Product details

Stow Riven Concrete Paving

The Stow concrete paving range is designed to bring low-cost, attractive and durable utility paving slabs to homeowners for a range of garden applications such as paving bin areas, shed and greenhouse bases. They are available in two colours (grey and buff) and two size formats (600 x 600 mm and 450 x 450 mm).

Utility Paving

If you're after the ideal paving for a utility area (meaning that it is used less often and sees less footfall/traffic across it) then these slabs are the perfect solution. They are low-cost and specified to meet the needs of utility paving, offering versatile, aesthetically pleasing quality paving at a budget price.

Stone-Effect Finish Concrete Paving

Stow Riven Concrete Slabs are a budget utility-style concrete slab range designed to suit the homeowners looking to pave areas where less foot traffic is necessary.

The classic weathered appearance and natural stone looks of Stow Paving provides for a timeless aesthetic, taking its styling from the appearance of natural stone. The concrete slabs look like hewn stone and have subtle shallow riven surfaces that offer an ideal base for a variety of utility applications such as bin areas, shed and greenhouse bases etc.

Uniform Colour

Stow slabs will provide your paved area with a consistent look and feel that closely mimics riven natural stone, but additionally offers uniform colour and tonal variation. Because these slabs are manufactured rather than quarried, their aesthetics are factory-controlled - and so they provide precise and consistent colour and tonal control - meaning you get exactly the look and feel you were expecting.

This colour pigment uniformity and aesthetic control/predictability are the main performance advantages presented by concrete paving over natural stone paving.

Durable Concrete Paving

These slabs are manufactured using a hydraulic-press dry-cast method, meaning consequently that they possess greater strength and durability than alternative wet-cast decorative concrete slabs.

Laying Advice

This paving should be laid on a full bed of mortar (laying course) of approximately 50 mm depth, which in-turn should sit on a compacted sub-base of suitable material (MOT Type-1 hardcore) which should be at least 150 mm in depth.

The paving slabs should securely bonded to the laying course by adding a coat of priming slurry to the back of the slabs immediately prior to laying them.

Pointing your patio couldn’t be any easier! Gone are the days of time-consuming traditional pointing with sand and cement. Paving Direct recommends using a brush in compound such as Pavestone Pointfix. This is a two-part jointing compound. One pack contains epoxy resin within the compound and the other epoxy hardener. Mixing and applying Pointfix is much cleaner and easier than traditional sand and cement mortar, as you simply just mix the contents within the tub and brush into the joints.

Pointfix is available to buy in two options. Either as a single tub with 7m² coverage, or as a cost-saving triple-contractor pack with 21m² coverage.
